Job Description:
Tantalum Mining Corporation (TANCO) owned by Sinomine (Hong Kong) Rare Metal Resources Co. Ltd. is a mining and manufacturing company located 60 kilometers Northeast of Lac du Bonnet, MB. Employees reside in Lac du Bonnet, Pinawa and surrounding area.
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Tanco, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty equipment essential for our mining operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance, a keen eye for detail and a dedication to safety.
Responsibilities:
- Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic principals, trade techniques, properties of various materials, and operating and application principals of equipment.
- Determines nature and extent of repair work required, plans details of working procedure, locking and tagging out equipment, obtains tools and materials required.
- Adjusts and measures to close tolerances using precision testing and measuring equipment.
- Installs and repairs all types of high and low pressure hoses with mechanical fittings.
- Operates oxyacetylene and other burning and welding equipment to burn, braze and perform minor welding.
- Operates machine tools such as drill press, band saw, hydraulic press, bolt and pipe threader.
- Operates pendent control crane and hoisting equipment to move and position equipment and materials.
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty mining equipment.
- Diagnosis and trouble shoots, repairs, adjusts, replaces, overhauls, dismantles, rebuilds, installs, tests, cleans and lubricates all types of mobile equipment.
- Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, couplings and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, or running fits.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longetivity.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and operations personnel to prioritize and address equipment issues.
- Keeps working area, tools and equipment in an orderly condition.
- When necessary, operates mobile equipment.
- Cleans and applies anti-corrosive compounds to overhauled equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Certification (required).
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
- Previous experience working on mining equipment is preferred.
