Industrial Welder (Red Seal)

Job Description:

Tantalum Mining Corporation is an entrepreneurial-minded organization that welcomes and support individual idea and strategies. We are looking for an individual to join our dynamic team as an Industrial Welder for the Bernic Lake, MB, site.

Responsibilities:

Performs JSA’s as required prior to performing tasks.
Adheres to all prescribed safety procedures such as hot work, line breaking, lock tag & try, confined space, etc. Maintains strong safety awareness and exercises good safety practices.
Receives instructions, drawings, and work orders from supervision.
Interprets drawings, determines working procedure, selects and procures materials equipment and tools as required.
Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of the welding properties of various types of metals, welding rods, welding heats, stress relief, shrinkage, warping and expansion.
Lays out work, makes sketches, determines stock sizes, preheats and flame anneals parts, builds up worn or defective surfaces, makes any type and size of weld, cleans and prepares all items to be welded.
Sets and operates electric arc, oxyacetylene, air arc, TIG, MIG, and plasma equipment to cut, braze and weld various metals and alloys to specification.
Operates equipment such as drill press, grinder, band saw, pipe threader, pipe groover, hand tools, etc.
Work to close tolerances on “tightfit” fabrications and performs welds in all positions.
Transports to and from work site, tools and materials such as chain falls, hoists, timbers, jacks, skids, rollers, cable and slings and other related equipment.
Perform rigging on heavy and unbalanced loads.
Operates pendant control cranes, forklift, manlifts, truck or hoisting equipment in order to move, position, erect, assemble or dismantle equipment, tanks, structural steel sections and fabricated structures.
Cleans and prepares plate to install lining materials such as rubber, linatex, Nordback, etc.
Records and submits data which is relevant to job duties and reports irregularities.

Requirments:

CWB certification.
Red Seal certified.
Pressure ticket preferred.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to work in tight areas.
Weld in all positions.
Able to work in a mining atmosphere.
Good Physical condition.
